Cast Iron Products

What is the life expectancy of cast iron guttering?

Cast iron is an exceptionally long-lasting material for rainwater and soil systems, with installations capable of remaining in service for well over 100 years.

Heritage Cast Iron products require relatively little maintenance. We recommend inspecting the system annually and periodically repainting it where required to maintain its protective finish.

Why choose cast iron guttering?

Cast iron combines traditional appearance with strength, durability and a very long service life. It is particularly suited to period properties, listed buildings, conservation projects and developments where the appearance and longevity of the rainwater system are important.

Do you supply cast iron guttering in different profiles?

Yes. Our range includes Half Round, Beaded Half Round, Deep Half Round, Victorian Ogee and Moulded Ogee gutter profiles in a selection of traditional sizes.

Do you supply cast iron rainwater pipes and hoppers?

Yes. We supply cast iron rainwater pipes, fittings and a wide selection of cast iron hoppers, including ornamental, corner, flat-back and rectangular designs.

Finishes and Maintenance

What finish is supplied on your cast iron products?

Many of our standard cast iron products are available in a transit primed finish or as a painted finish.

If you are ordering products for a particular project and are unsure which finish is appropriate, please contact our sales team before ordering.

Does cast iron guttering need painting?

Yes. Cast iron should have a suitable protective coating and the finish should be inspected periodically as part of normal building maintenance.

Any areas where the coating has been damaged during handling or installation should be repaired to maintain protection of the casting.

Bespoke Cast Iron

Can you supply non-standard cast iron products?

Yes. We manufacture non-standard and bespoke cast iron products to order.

This can include radius gutters and alterations to standard products. Our in-house fabrication capability can also accommodate requirements such as extended offsets, unusual angles and special bracketry.

Can you manufacture radius guttering?

Yes. Radius and other bespoke gutter requirements can be manufactured to suit individual projects. Contact our technical sales team with your drawings or measurements so that we can discuss the specification.

Planning and Installation

Can you help with a take-off from drawings?

Yes. We offer a full schedule and take-off service from drawings and roof plans.

If you are unsure which components or quantities are required, our technical sales team can also discuss the project with you directly.

Can you help with installation advice?

Yes. Our sales and technical team can answer most questions relating to the installation of Heritage Cast Iron products.

Can I replace existing cast iron guttering with your products?

In many cases, yes. However, older cast iron systems can vary in profile, dimensions and fixing arrangements.

We recommend checking the dimensions and profile of the existing system before ordering. If you are unsure, photographs and measurements can be supplied to our technical sales team for guidance.

Ordering and Delivery

Can I have my order delivered directly to site?

Yes. We can deliver directly to a site address.

Please provide the full delivery address and postcode together with a site contact name and telephone number. You should also tell us about any access restrictions, offloading requirements, booking-in procedures or restricted site opening hours when placing your order.

How quickly can you deliver?

We hold large stocks of standard Heritage Cast Iron products and most stocked orders can be delivered within 48 hours to UK mainland addresses.

Delivery times for painted, bespoke or non-standard products may vary.

Do you offer free delivery?

Free delivery is available on qualifying orders. Delivery charges depend on the order value, products being purchased and delivery location.
